these are the phrases we always wonder in our mind ( i was having fun with babel fish application)
με συγχωρήστε ο κύριος είναι ότι πορτοφόλι ή είναι εσείς ακριβώς ευτυχείς να με δείτε excuse me mister is that wallet or are you just glad to see me
με συγχωρήστε ο κύριος τι εσείς έχει στην τσέπη σας excuse me mister what do you have in your pocket
η θέση μου ή η θέση σας my place or your place
καφές, τσάι, εγώ; coffee, tea, me?
θα με παντρεψετε; will you marry me?
An example case of the phrase number 2 can be seen underneath (this picture can also be used while demostrating phrase 1)
με συγχωρήστε ο κύριος τι εσείς έχει στην τσέπη σας excuse me mister what do you have in your pocket WOWOWOWO Emilia, sorry baby, but they are some mystakes here... Babelfish don't translate very well greek, i know that for test it ... Exemple : For the sentence : excuse me mister what do you have in your pocket ? you shouldn't say : με συγχωρήστε ο κύριος τι εσείς έχει στην τσέπη σας But : Me sinxorite kirie, ti exete stin tzepi sas ?

| The most important thing to remember when you learn Greek is that we don't use SUBJECTS often because our verbs have different endings for each person so we can easily understand without subjects.
For example in English we have
I play you play he plays she plays it plays we play you play they play
If you just say play people cannot understand who you are talking about.
But in Greek.....
Εγω παιζω- Εgo pezo Εσυ παιζεις-Esi pezis Αυτος παιζει-aftos pezi Εμεις παιζουμε-emis pezoume Εσεις παιζετε-esis pezete Αυτοι παιζουν-ayti pazoun
See?Each person has each own ending.
So.....if you want to say Emilia that you adore Sakis it's wrong to say Ego latrevo ton Saki. You have to say Latrevo ton Saki without putting any subject.

| Greek language is propably the only language in the world, where you don't use subjects. Even though in Finnish language the verbs have different endings for each person. You always put the subject infront of the verb. | |

emilia, also Romanian is another language where you can use the verbs without a subject, because you can deduce the person from the verb's ending. But we, romanians, usually use the verbs with persons , subjects .

I have to admit that I am interested in the Romanian language plus the Slavic languages e.g Bulgarian, Serbian, Russian. Plus I tend to pick up a few words of them at times and learn it, especially from pop songs.
