is Greek language difficult?

Many words in the English language are derived from Greek and I know many of them already without looking in the links.

Here are a few that I know since there are too many of them.

Thermos
Rhinoceros
Stomach
Panther
Hydrology
Technology
Melancholy
Zoo

Does anyone know of a site which translates Greek in the Latin alphabet?

The ones I find only translate into the Greek alphabet and if I enter something in the Latin alphabet it is not recognised.

I've had problems with translating sites, they are not accurate at all.

Yeah definitely Mo, they can be really dodgy when it comes to whole sentences/phrases, as every language is so different. I know this all too well as a French student It's funny how something can be translated so so wrong

But for single words, those sites are quite reliable

It's usually sentences that are the major problem since most languages have different syntaxes to English.

I've just been looking to translate a few words of Greek here and there, as I like learning new words and I can figure out how to pronounce them when in the Latin alphabet. I guess I should respect the language and learn the proper alphabet though

I know both the Greek and the Cyrillic alphabets and the only words I can understand in many languages are names of things including people and places and also words that look alike to English.

It's fine 2 learn certain words in Greek there. But when it comes 2 learning a whole sentence in Greek let alone a paragraph that's a different story.

I started to learn Greek couple months ago, and for me as a beginner is pretty difficult (:

I think than every language has it's own difficult things.
I've been "learning" / "studying" greek for three years in college (adult education) and still I'm not confident to speak in public. I do manage pretty well with every day situations and also with taxi drivers And, I do get the point when listening and watching news or movies. Pretty good, eh

This summer i suddenly noticed that i've become better and faster reader too. We were at cinema in crete a couple of weeks ago - we saw "The Proposal" (Sandra Bulloc, Ryan Raynolds) and I managed to read almost every word in subtitles

Next month I'll begin my 4th year with this lovely language

I say this cuz im a brazilian... theres a lot of roles.. and etc....
the verbs... too......kkkkkkkkkkkk and cuz im studyng to be a portuguese teacher but I prefer teaching inglish....but Id like that you around the world learn something in portuguese...kkkkkkkkk
